Narrative:
Filed a flight plan to reenter the class B (washington ADIZ) at XA45. We flew around to the west, and applied for our transponder code to re-enter the airspace at about XA55. We received the code when we were abeam fdk, and were told 'you are cleared to enter the class B.' I asked if they could read the mode C and confirm my altitude readout. They responded that they could not until I was 5 mi past fdk. I entered the airspace and proceeded directly to davis. After a few mins, I reported 'airport in sight' and potomac approach said 'please reset your transponder, we don't see you.' I was in the pattern at this point and turned it on-off-on, and they said, 'we have you.' I said thank you, and landed. After touchdown, I reset to 1200, and parked. Within 15 mins, a blackhawk landed and 2 officers approached. They said that I made an unauthorized incursion. I explained what happened. They said it was probably a miscom and that nothing would probably come of it. Upon getting home, I called potomac approach, and spoke to a supervisor. I explained it all, and he said that the case was closed.

Narrative: FILED A FLT PLAN TO REENTER THE CLASS B (WASHINGTON ADIZ) AT XA45. WE FLEW AROUND TO THE W, AND APPLIED FOR OUR XPONDER CODE TO RE-ENTER THE AIRSPACE AT ABOUT XA55. WE RECEIVED THE CODE WHEN WE WERE ABEAM FDK, AND WERE TOLD 'YOU ARE CLRED TO ENTER THE CLASS B.' I ASKED IF THEY COULD READ THE MODE C AND CONFIRM MY ALT READOUT. THEY RESPONDED THAT THEY COULD NOT UNTIL I WAS 5 MI PAST FDK. I ENTERED THE AIRSPACE AND PROCEEDED DIRECTLY TO DAVIS. AFTER A FEW MINS, I RPTED 'ARPT IN SIGHT' AND POTOMAC APCH SAID 'PLEASE RESET YOUR XPONDER, WE DON'T SEE YOU.' I WAS IN THE PATTERN AT THIS POINT AND TURNED IT ON-OFF-ON, AND THEY SAID, 'WE HAVE YOU.' I SAID THANK YOU, AND LANDED. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, I RESET TO 1200, AND PARKED. WITHIN 15 MINS, A BLACKHAWK LANDED AND 2 OFFICERS APCHED. THEY SAID THAT I MADE AN UNAUTH INCURSION. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A MISCOM AND THAT NOTHING WOULD PROBABLY COME OF IT. UPON GETTING HOME, I CALLED POTOMAC APCH, AND SPOKE TO A SUPVR. I EXPLAINED IT ALL, AND HE SAID THAT THE CASE WAS CLOSED.
