Narrative:

Student pilot, on supervised solo on 2ND solo touch and go. On short final (1/4 mi), controller had a plane taxi and hold in position. Due to spacing, controller instructed student to go around, left side of runway. Student applied full power and went around approximately 100 ft on left side of runway while other plane took off and started drifting to left side of runway. Student was in left seat and on left side of runway and lost visual on departing plane. Controller first instructed student to start left turn (thinking he was over runway centerline then thinking student was on right side of runway, stopped turn). Other plane started evasive action by sharp descending right turn. Student pilot should have exercised PIC privileges and announced lost visual and turned immediately away from airport runway.

Narrative: STUDENT PLT, ON SUPERVISED SOLO ON 2ND SOLO TOUCH AND GO. ON SHORT FINAL (1/4 MI), CTLR HAD A PLANE TAXI AND HOLD IN POS. DUE TO SPACING, CTLR INSTRUCTED STUDENT TO GO AROUND, L SIDE OF RWY. STUDENT APPLIED FULL PWR AND WENT AROUND APPROX 100 FT ON L SIDE OF RWY WHILE OTHER PLANE TOOK OFF AND STARTED DRIFTING TO L SIDE OF RWY. STUDENT WAS IN L SEAT AND ON L SIDE OF RWY AND LOST VISUAL ON DEPARTING PLANE. CTLR FIRST INSTRUCTED STUDENT TO START L TURN (THINKING HE WAS OVER RWY CTRLINE THEN THINKING STUDENT WAS ON R SIDE OF RWY, STOPPED TURN). OTHER PLANE STARTED EVASIVE ACTION BY SHARP DSNDING R TURN. STUDENT PLT SHOULD HAVE EXERCISED PIC PRIVILEGES AND ANNOUNCED LOST VISUAL AND TURNED IMMEDIATELY AWAY FROM ARPT RWY.
