Narrative:
After touchdown on runway 22 at mmpr; I had noticed a vehicle on the departure end of the runway (white and black street sweeper with no lights). Used maximum braking effort and reverse and brought the aircraft to a stop about 3000 ft away from vehicle. Landing clearance was issued. Vehicle was black and white and was on the centerline at the departure end of runway. Called tower on the radio after and they would not respond to the inquiry about the vehicle. We then called control tower via phone and they said the vehicle was on the taxiway and would investigate. We informed them it was on the runway.
