Narrative:
In the early evening of aug/tue/03, I was notified by the jeffco airport (bjc) ground controller that my commercial student and I flew through a tfr issued for the coors field area, denver, co. The problem arose 1 hour prior to engine start for our short flight to centenial airport (apa) and back, when I personally phoned the denver FSS, and asked the briefer 'are there any tfr's for denver this evening?' the briefer replied 'no, no tfr's for denver this evening.' I thanked him and the conversation ended. 1 hour later, my student and I wrote down the ATIS and noted that the jeffco ATIS mentioned there was a tfr issued for denver. I told the ground controller, 'I called the FSS and they mentioned there were no tfr's for denver tonight.' he replied that there were no tfr's for the evening and it was probably recorded in error. We departed jeffco, did a touch and go at centenial, and flew back to jeffco flying within 2-4 NM, southwest-northwest of coors field. Contributing factors were: 1) the FSS briefer's incorrect statement that there were no tfr's for denver that evening. 2) the jeffco ground controller's confusion as to whether a tfr was issued, and 3) my failure to check the schedule of both coors field and invesco field myself. I recommend that FSS briefers and ATC be provided with an accurate database for the respective tfr's. In addition, I will check for any major concerts, ball games, etc, myself through the stadium's internet site prior to flying close to the stadiums that can hold 30000 seats or greater.

Title: TRAINING FLT IN DEN AREA ENTERED TFR NEAR COORS FIELD.
Narrative: IN THE EARLY EVENING OF AUG/TUE/03, I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE JEFFCO ARPT (BJC) GND CTLR THAT MY COMMERCIAL STUDENT AND I FLEW THROUGH A TFR ISSUED FOR THE COORS FIELD AREA, DENVER, CO. THE PROB AROSE 1 HR PRIOR TO ENG START FOR OUR SHORT FLT TO CENTENIAL ARPT (APA) AND BACK, WHEN I PERSONALLY PHONED THE DENVER FSS, AND ASKED THE BRIEFER 'ARE THERE ANY TFR'S FOR DENVER THIS EVENING?' THE BRIEFER REPLIED 'NO, NO TFR'S FOR DENVER THIS EVENING.' I THANKED HIM AND THE CONVERSATION ENDED. 1 HR LATER, MY STUDENT AND I WROTE DOWN THE ATIS AND NOTED THAT THE JEFFCO ATIS MENTIONED THERE WAS A TFR ISSUED FOR DENVER. I TOLD THE GND CTLR, 'I CALLED THE FSS AND THEY MENTIONED THERE WERE NO TFR'S FOR DENVER TONIGHT.' HE REPLIED THAT THERE WERE NO TFR'S FOR THE EVENING AND IT WAS PROBABLY RECORDED IN ERROR. WE DEPARTED JEFFCO, DID A TOUCH AND GO AT CENTENIAL, AND FLEW BACK TO JEFFCO FLYING WITHIN 2-4 NM, SW-NW OF COORS FIELD. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE: 1) THE FSS BRIEFER'S INCORRECT STATEMENT THAT THERE WERE NO TFR'S FOR DENVER THAT EVENING. 2) THE JEFFCO GND CTLR'S CONFUSION AS TO WHETHER A TFR WAS ISSUED, AND 3) MY FAILURE TO CHK THE SCHEDULE OF BOTH COORS FIELD AND INVESCO FIELD MYSELF. I RECOMMEND THAT FSS BRIEFERS AND ATC BE PROVIDED WITH AN ACCURATE DATABASE FOR THE RESPECTIVE TFR'S. IN ADDITION, I WILL CHK FOR ANY MAJOR CONCERTS, BALL GAMES, ETC, MYSELF THROUGH THE STADIUM'S INTERNET SITE PRIOR TO FLYING CLOSE TO THE STADIUMS THAT CAN HOLD 30000 SEATS OR GREATER.
