Narrative:
Approach to sea was normal with first officer as PF. WX was clear. Approach control instructed us to maintain visual separation of aircraft ahead which was approaching runway 34L. We were approaching runway 34R with the preceding aircraft and airport clearly in sight. Another aircraft (I believe air carrier Y) was behind us as we turned to final approach. Approximately 1 mi from touchdown, I noticed that aircraft passing us on the left as he approached runway 34L. He landed ahead of us on runway 34L while we landed normally on runway 34R. The separation between us as he passed was unnervingly close and unexpected.

Narrative: APCH TO SEA WAS NORMAL WITH FO AS PF. WX WAS CLR. APCH CTL INSTRUCTED US TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION OF ACFT AHEAD WHICH WAS APCHING RWY 34L. WE WERE APCHING RWY 34R WITH THE PRECEDING ACFT AND ARPT CLRLY IN SIGHT. ANOTHER ACFT (I BELIEVE ACR Y) WAS BEHIND US AS WE TURNED TO FINAL APCH. APPROX 1 MI FROM TOUCHDOWN, I NOTICED THAT ACFT PASSING US ON THE L AS HE APCHED RWY 34L. HE LANDED AHEAD OF US ON RWY 34L WHILE WE LANDED NORMALLY ON RWY 34R. THE SEPARATION BTWN US AS HE PASSED WAS UNNERVINGLY CLOSE AND UNEXPECTED.
