Narrative:
On long solo cross country, requirement for commercial license, plan was poc-mod-sbd-poc. On mod-sbd leg, VMC but IFR flight plan. Near blanc intersection on V27 sbound at 7000 ft, the display of my navigation-communication blinked and went dead. Other electrical instruments also went dead (GPS, LORAN). My transponder also went dead. I did not declare an emergency (no communication) or squawk 7600 (no transponder), although I would have, had I had communications. With electrical failure in VMC, I elected to divert to the nearest airport, sbp, about 25 mins away. I could not inform ATC of my situation. I maintained 7000 ft until in sight of the airport then descended into the class D without permission. At 2000 ft, in sight of the tower, I circled until they gave me a green light, and I landed. I borrowed a radio from a mechanic and called the tower. They said that they had informed approach that I had arrived safely. No written report was requested.

Title: A C182 PLT, ON A LONG XCOUNTRY TO SBD, EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND DIVERTED TO SBP.
