Narrative:
While performing operation XXXX airworthiness directive, off wing slide door latch inspection on a B767 aircraft, I (an amt) signed blocks 9 and 14 inspection blocks for this operation. I found out later that it was an rii item. They have just recently assigned certain emergency equipment to rii status on the operational cards or check job card. They have typed in rii in a small block. Nowhere under these items does it state rii -- just in that one block on the front pages of the operation check job card. What could help is to have an item that is rii have rii in red, so it stands out from the rest and also put it in the detail instruction part stating its rii.
