Narrative:
ATC facility: ord ground. Location: intersection of taxiway a and A14. Our aircraft came out of H2 had taxied out the west line and had been cleared by ord ground to taxi to runway 32L 'T10 by B M2 M T.' we were moving toward A14 and our nose was just out onto taxiway a when we received an urgent call from ground about air carrier Y and at the same time we saw air carrier Y moving and turning rapidly left onto taxiway a from taxiway F. To avoid air carrier Y I hit the brakes hard. ATC told me that air carrier Y missed taxiway B which they were supposed to turn left onto. I understand they had just cleared the runway on taxiway F and were using inbound ground on 121.9. Ord ground thanked us for stopping and giving way. Since that was my only option to avoid a big problem, I was glad to stop. Unfortunately our #1 flight attendant was thrown against one of the cart restraining brackets which protrudes from the forward galley counter and hurt her right arm. I talked to her before departing. It was bruised and it hurt, but she could continue on. During the flight her arm swelled, got more painful and she put ice on it. She plans to see company medical. I am very sorry she got hurt.

Title: FLT ATTENDANT INJURY OCCURS DURING HARD BRAKING ACTION BY THE PIC OF AN OUTBOUND TAXIING B737 DURING A CLOSE GND CONFLICT WITH AN INBOUND TAXIING ACR Y ACFT AT ORD, IL.
Narrative: ATC FACILITY: ORD GND. LOCATION: INTXN OF TXWY A AND A14. OUR ACFT CAME OUT OF H2 HAD TAXIED OUT THE W LINE AND HAD BEEN CLRED BY ORD GND TO TAXI TO RWY 32L 'T10 BY B M2 M T.' WE WERE MOVING TOWARD A14 AND OUR NOSE WAS JUST OUT ONTO TXWY A WHEN WE RECEIVED AN URGENT CALL FROM GND ABOUT ACR Y AND AT THE SAME TIME WE SAW ACR Y MOVING AND TURNING RAPIDLY L ONTO TXWY A FROM TXWY F. TO AVOID ACR Y I HIT THE BRAKES HARD. ATC TOLD ME THAT ACR Y MISSED TXWY B WHICH THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO TURN L ONTO. I UNDERSTAND THEY HAD JUST CLRED THE RWY ON TXWY F AND WERE USING INBOUND GND ON 121.9. ORD GND THANKED US FOR STOPPING AND GIVING WAY. SINCE THAT WAS MY ONLY OPTION TO AVOID A BIG PROB, I WAS GLAD TO STOP. UNFORTUNATELY OUR #1 FLT ATTENDANT WAS THROWN AGAINST ONE OF THE CART RESTRAINING BRACKETS WHICH PROTRUDES FROM THE FORWARD GALLEY COUNTER AND HURT HER R ARM. I TALKED TO HER BEFORE DEPARTING. IT WAS BRUISED AND IT HURT, BUT SHE COULD CONTINUE ON. DURING THE FLT HER ARM SWELLED, GOT MORE PAINFUL AND SHE PUT ICE ON IT. SHE PLANS TO SEE COMPANY MEDICAL. I AM VERY SORRY SHE GOT HURT.
