Narrative:
I was called 10 mins before departure to address a left hydraulic system pressure low light. I determined that it was an indication problem and placarded it accordingly to MEL 29.08. All criteria were met except to run the engine. I was under the impression the captain would verify hydraulic pressure from the engine driven pump.

Title: A B757-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A HYD LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT DEFERRED PER THE MEL. ENG RUN TO VERIFY PRESSURE OMITTED.
Narrative: I WAS CALLED 10 MINS BEFORE DEP TO ADDRESS A L HYD SYS PRESSURE LOW LIGHT. I DETERMINED THAT IT WAS AN INDICATION PROB AND PLACARDED IT ACCORDINGLY TO MEL 29.08. ALL CRITERIA WERE MET EXCEPT TO RUN THE ENG. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THE CAPT WOULD VERIFY HYD PRESSURE FROM THE ENG DRIVEN PUMP.
