Narrative:

I was in a hurry to warm up the oil so I could perform an oil change. The katana was closed traffic, doing touch-and-goes on runway 31. After completing my run-up, the katana was on base. I decided to take off as the katana is very slow. It was on short final and the pilot sounded coarse over the radio as I had pulled in front of him. I knew that I had plenty of room, however. As a side note, I was turning base for the same runway before that aircraft had even turned crosswind. In the future, I shall slow down and be courteous to my fellow pilots. At the time, I believed I had more room. However, I should have left a larger safety margin.
