Narrative:

During takeoff, while departing as flight abcd from ZZZ to pit, the landing gear handle would not move to the up position. We ran the 'landing gear handle will not move to the up position' abnormal procedures checklist and the gear remained down and locked. We immediately returned to the field and landed without further incident. ZZZ is a maintenance base, so the mechanics did the write-up in the aircraft discrepancy logbook and wrote 'landing gear relay circuit, breaker may have been missed upon return to service from maintenance. To my best recollection, when I received the aircraft from maintenance that morning, the abnormal procedures checklist did not mention the landing gear relay circuit breaker.
