Narrative:
Door 2L has very loud pressure squeal in-flight. Squeal is coming from bottom of door. Door was inspected. A piece of door sealing compound was discovered missing. Tape was applied to area. Then the supervisor signed item to be deferred as no leaks noted. I know for a fact the plane was never pressurized. To carry this forward by saying this gets everyone involved -- flight crew, flight attendants, maintenance controller -- that the plane was pressurized and that item found as the reason for the leak, making everyone feel it was addressed properly. This plane left without being pressurized before flight, to verify that they did indeed find the area of concern. This is falsifying documentation of a known problem.
