Narrative:

B727-200 operated jan/fri/04 from ZZZ to monterrey, mexico (MMMY). There was 6200 pounds of additional freight loaded onto the aircraft at position #3, which is supposed to have been a 'void position.' the weight and balance that was prepared and given to the flight crew did not have this 6200 pounds of freight at position #3 accounted for. The flight crew was alerted to this problem while in cruise flight at FL310, approximately 1 hour after the flight had departed ZZZ. Operations control center called via SELCAL radio frequency to advise of the problem. Company 'ramp' which loaded the aircraft, did not advise operations control center of the 6200 pounds (overload) at position #3 in the jet until after the flight departed ZZZ. Prior to this flight departing, the operations control center had been contacting the flight while it was still sitting at the parking gate, attempting to work out a loading scenario which would allow the flight to depart with an increase in planned payload from 30000 pounds to 42000 pounds. I believe there was too much miscom between operations control center and 'ramp' in attempting to load the jet legally for the trip. Not sure how to solve the miscoms problems. Aircraft center of gravity was legal. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that his company has advised that the problem is being addressed since there were other incidents of load miscalculations on aircraft flying the same route and utilizing the same loading personnel. Reporter stated that due to last min loading, the so is not always able to complete a visual check of the final load. Reporter stated that the load error did cause a discrepancy in the stabilizer setting for takeoff which resulted in a 'heavy nose' feel reported by the PF.

Title: B727 FREIGHTER FLT CREW DEPARTS ZZZ WITH ADDITIONAL CARGO NOT MANIFESTED NOR ACCOUNTED FOR ON THE WT AND BAL COMPUTATION.

Narrative: B727-200 OPERATED JAN/FRI/04 FROM ZZZ TO MONTERREY, MEXICO (MMMY). THERE WAS 6200 LBS OF ADDITIONAL FREIGHT LOADED ONTO THE ACFT AT POS #3, WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN A 'VOID POS.' THE WT AND BAL THAT WAS PREPARED AND GIVEN TO THE FLT CREW DID NOT HAVE THIS 6200 LBS OF FREIGHT AT POS #3 ACCOUNTED FOR. THE FLT CREW WAS ALERTED TO THIS PROB WHILE IN CRUISE FLT AT FL310, APPROX 1 HR AFTER THE FLT HAD DEPARTED ZZZ. OPS CTL CTR CALLED VIA SELCAL RADIO FREQ TO ADVISE OF THE PROB. COMPANY 'RAMP' WHICH LOADED THE ACFT, DID NOT ADVISE OPS CTL CTR OF THE 6200 LBS (OVERLOAD) AT POS #3 IN THE JET UNTIL AFTER THE FLT DEPARTED ZZZ. PRIOR TO THIS FLT DEPARTING, THE OPS CTL CTR HAD BEEN CONTACTING THE FLT WHILE IT WAS STILL SITTING AT THE PARKING GATE, ATTEMPTING TO WORK OUT A LOADING SCENARIO WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE FLT TO DEPART WITH AN INCREASE IN PLANNED PAYLOAD FROM 30000 LBS TO 42000 LBS. I BELIEVE THERE WAS TOO MUCH MISCOM BTWN OPS CTL CTR AND 'RAMP' IN ATTEMPTING TO LOAD THE JET LEGALLY FOR THE TRIP. NOT SURE HOW TO SOLVE THE MISCOMS PROBS. ACFT CTR OF GRAVITY WAS LEGAL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HIS COMPANY HAS ADVISED THAT THE PROB IS BEING ADDRESSED SINCE THERE WERE OTHER INCIDENTS OF LOAD MISCALCULATIONS ON ACFT FLYING THE SAME RTE AND UTILIZING THE SAME LOADING PERSONNEL. RPTR STATED THAT DUE TO LAST MIN LOADING, THE SO IS NOT ALWAYS ABLE TO COMPLETE A VISUAL CHK OF THE FINAL LOAD. RPTR STATED THAT THE LOAD ERROR DID CAUSE A DISCREPANCY IN THE STABILIZER SETTING FOR TKOF WHICH RESULTED IN A 'HVY NOSE' FEEL RPTED BY THE PF.
