Narrative:

7 mi east of ont airport aircraft X, a FA20, was descending out of 3200 ft on the ILS approach for runway 26L. A VFR aircraft squawking 1200 was northbound climbing out of 2500 ft. The unknown VFR aircraft was legally transitioning east of ont's airspace. Aircraft X was issued the traffic but never reported it in sight. This airspace is being watched closely because of several close traffic encounters. Ont's airspace needs to have an approach extension added to it before the worst case scenario happens, a midair collision. This issue is well documented and the powers that be, should take a proactive instead of reactionary response to correct this discrepancy.

Title: ONT LCL CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING AIRSPACE CONFIGN AND WITNESSED CONFLICT BTWN VFR ACFT AND IFR FALCON ON ILS RWY 26L.

Narrative: 7 MI E OF ONT ARPT ACFT X, A FA20, WAS DSNDING OUT OF 3200 FT ON THE ILS APCH FOR RWY 26L. A VFR ACFT SQUAWKING 1200 WAS NBOUND CLBING OUT OF 2500 FT. THE UNKNOWN VFR ACFT WAS LEGALLY TRANSITIONING E OF ONT'S AIRSPACE. ACFT X WAS ISSUED THE TFC BUT NEVER RPTED IT IN SIGHT. THIS AIRSPACE IS BEING WATCHED CLOSELY BECAUSE OF SEVERAL CLOSE TFC ENCOUNTERS. ONT'S AIRSPACE NEEDS TO HAVE AN APCH EXTENSION ADDED TO IT BEFORE THE WORST CASE SCENARIO HAPPENS, A MIDAIR COLLISION. THIS ISSUE IS WELL DOCUMENTED AND THE POWERS THAT BE, SHOULD TAKE A PROACTIVE INSTEAD OF REACTIONARY RESPONSE TO CORRECT THIS DISCREPANCY.
