Narrative:

There are 2 hold lines for runway 8R at mia. We interpreted the first hold line to be an IFR hold line and taxied to the second hold line. Tower informed us we should have held at the first hold line. There is no sign at mia advising all flts to hold at the first line. No runway incursion incurred and there is no obvious reason why the first hold line is important, but apparently it is to mia controllers. Suggest airport chart note and improve signage to prevent other crews from making this mistake.
