Narrative:
Delayed due to slide malfunction on door 1L (girt bar was hanging loose. There was some concern slide could deploy accidentally). Requested numerous times for airstairs, since door 1L was not a safe exit. Operations never brought airstairs until decision to deplane passenger was made. During the lengthy delay, a passenger lit a cigarette in an aft lavatory. We had a momentary lavatory smoke ECAM, which cleared. Flight attendant verified the warning was due to cigarette smoke. Flight attendant completed smoking ban form, and passenger complied with procedure, including producing identify.
