Narrative:
Aircraft flew in with problem. Air carrier X sep/tue/04, in line check grease fitting on lower forward drive track #4 slat panel would not accept grease. Removed access panel on outboard side of track and found roller pin missing cotter pin and nut on last thread of pin. Corrective action: nut was installed, torqued and safetied with cotter pin. Nut could have eventually worked its way off threads, pin could have fallen out and bearing dislodged causing slat to damage wing.
