Narrative:
Pushback from gate tail north was normal. Ground (121.75) directed us to taxi to runway 32L T10. Taxi via taxiway a and hold short A12. 'Clear right' and 'clear left' were both confirmed and verbalized and breakaway thrust was used to start the aircraft rolling. Our jet was rolling approximately 3 KTS at 45 degrees to taxiway a and an rj came from our right on taxiway a at an apparently 'fast taxi' speed. Our captain had no option other than stop immediately, in my opinion, to avoid collision and he did so. I checked with our flight attendants and they said they had 2 flight attendants injured from our stop. One neck and one foot injury -- that was later corrected to one neck and one back injury. We returned to the concourse at gate and paramedics met the jet about 5 mins after block-in. 2 new flight attendants replaced the injured and we left uneventfully 21 mins after block-in. Rest of journey to lhr went uneventfully.
