Narrative:
During landing flare, I heard metal noise as propeller struck the runway. I realized I had failed to lower the gear while in the pattern. I immediately increased throttle to attempt to gain altitude and lower gear. Plane continued to sink and made contact with the runway. Engine stopped as aircraft skidded down runway then veered off into grass. After aircraft came to a stop, I secured it by shutting off power, fuel and air. Exited aircraft and notified field employee. I then made arrangements to have aircraft moved to parking area. There were no passenger and no other aircraft involved during the incident.
