Narrative:

The incident occurred during entering the MEL into database. Rather than applying the MEL; I entered it as corrected. The placard and proper MEL were with the book and flight crew was briefed as to the condition of the light. I just got into a hurry due to other aircraft on the ground for a service check. We as a shift do get used to 'automatically' clearing MEL's rather than putting them on a system.
