Narrative:
This is more of an unsafe traffic flow problem. Due to WX; sectors 9; 10; and 11; as well as sector 8; worked traffic rerted by traffic management from florida to the midwest. Also; atlanta inbound traffic normally entering atl approach through other sector were offloaded onto these sectors. Combined with the normal traffic flow; this resulted in these sectors becoming extremely complex. Since these sectors had WX in them as well; we had many pointouts; rertes; and holding traffic. This lasted for several hours. WX was the main cause of the problem; but our tmu did nothing to help alleviate the sometimes unsafe situation. They knew these sectors were working the rerted traffic flow to atlanta and to the midwest. If our tmu had been more proactive; these sectors would not have been so overloaded or complex -- even unsafe at times.
