Narrative:
Received the runway 19 'dalton' departure verbally from clearance delivery. In a rush to accommodate ATC and departure between arriving aircraft; altitude pre-select was set to 2000 ft (out of habit). As the right turn to 280 degrees was executed; I contacted departure 'heading 280 degrees; out of 'X' ft for 2000 ft.' departure's response was not immediate; but as I was climbing through 1600 ft; I was reminded by the controller that I was to be at 1300 ft. His comment was; 'read your plate.' there was no conflict warning on TCAS; but none the less; the clearance was VFR to 1300 ft on heading 280 degrees. The lesson on my part is not to let ATC rush you out when you're not ready; although being a relatively high time pilot; being a 'first timer' to teb and not knowing all the procedures like the back of my hand; I should know better than to be rushed. But the remaining question on hand is; why is there no dalton departure in my terminal procedures book; or to a lesser extent; not even in the garmin database? The only departure procedure in the current book is the teb 5 departure and was; therefore; not able to 'read my plate.'

Narrative: RECEIVED THE RWY 19 'DALTON' DEP VERBALLY FROM CLRNC DELIVERY. IN A RUSH TO ACCOMMODATE ATC AND DEP BETWEEN ARRIVING ACFT; ALT PRE-SELECT WAS SET TO 2000 FT (OUT OF HABIT). AS THE R TURN TO 280 DEGS WAS EXECUTED; I CONTACTED DEP 'HDG 280 DEGS; OUT OF 'X' FT FOR 2000 FT.' DEP'S RESPONSE WAS NOT IMMEDIATE; BUT AS I WAS CLBING THROUGH 1600 FT; I WAS REMINDED BY THE CTLR THAT I WAS TO BE AT 1300 FT. HIS COMMENT WAS; 'READ YOUR PLATE.'
