Narrative:

I received a letter of investigation for improper or ineffective maintenance on aircraft for right&right of sealant around a repair. Previous shift finished the aircraft and inspected the repair and signed off that it complied with the engineering authority/authorized. I signed off the mechanic's block for compliance with the engineering authority/authorized; but did not remove or replace any sealant and was not aware that any sealant had been removed or replaced.
