Narrative:
Apr/sun/06 I had written up in the logbook that the tire pressure was low and needed to be looked at. We were at ZZZ. Apr/mon/06; the aircraft had maintenance performed that morning and the tire was svced back to 215 psi (left main tire). The logbook was signed off by a mechanic and our trip was released by our dispatch and maintenance control. Airborne I took a look at the logbook again and noticed that the mechanic had incorrectly written the actual psi in the tire on the discrepancy side of the logbook. With the actual psi he found he was supposed to do a tire change and not just put air in it. I called our maintenance control from the air and they requested we return to ZZZ to have the correct maintenance performed on our aircraft. We did so with no incident and the correct maintenance was performed and the aircraft was re-released.
