Narrative:
While flying the teb 5 departure off of runway 24 we encountered an updraft resulting in the aircraft deviating 100 ft to 1600 ft rather than the assigned 1500 ft per the SID. I immediately returned the aircraft to 1500 ft. On initial call to ny departure the controller acknowledged our altitude as 1600 ft. As a result of the deviation we encountered no TA/RA's nor did we trigger any to my knowledge. Our flight continued without further incident. In the future I will exercise an elevated level of vigilance when flying this or any other SID when gusty conditions are present.
