Narrative:
We were told by ground control that we were clear to push; tail east. I told this to the pushback crew and they proceeded to push the airplane. As the airplane was lining up with the tail to the east; I noticed an airplane going around on runway 08. As the crew pushed us back; the crossed the line with part of the airplane onto runway 08 (right wing). Not much room there. The ground crew has to know that this can never happen as airplanes are landing on runway 08. Ground control told us to tell this to the pushback crew; which I did. I also called the station to make sure a supervisor knew what happened. Supplemental information from acn 699661: part way through the pushback; ground control indicated that we were off the taxi line; and to correct our pushback crew (our right wingtip was over a portion of runway 08). Supplemental information from acn 699508: begin push tail east turned aircraft to the right as soon as I could. Was not able to see the line because of the rain. Wing walker advised me that the wing was going over the line. Sopped push and to correct the push made a sharper turn.

Title: MD80 HAS RWY INCURSION DURING PUSHBACK AT BUR.
Narrative: WE WERE TOLD BY GND CTL THAT WE WERE CLR TO PUSH; TAIL EAST. I TOLD THIS TO THE PUSHBACK CREW AND THEY PROCEEDED TO PUSH THE AIRPLANE. AS THE AIRPLANE WAS LINING UP WITH THE TAIL TO THE EAST; I NOTICED AN AIRPLANE GOING AROUND ON RWY 08. AS THE CREW PUSHED US BACK; THE CROSSED THE LINE WITH PART OF THE AIRPLANE ONTO RWY 08 (RIGHT WING). NOT MUCH ROOM THERE. THE GND CREW HAS TO KNOW THAT THIS CAN NEVER HAPPEN AS AIRPLANES ARE LNDG ON RWY 08. GND CTL TOLD US TO TELL THIS TO THE PUSHBACK CREW; WHICH I DID. I ALSO CALLED THE STATION TO MAKE SURE A SUPVR KNEW WHAT HAPPENED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 699661: PART WAY THROUGH THE PUSHBACK; GND CTL INDICATED THAT WE WERE OFF THE TAXI LINE; AND TO CORRECT OUR PUSHBACK CREW (OUR RIGHT WINGTIP WAS OVER A PORTION OF RWY 08). SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 699508: BEGIN PUSH TAIL EAST TURNED ACFT TO THE RIGHT AS SOON AS I COULD. WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE THE LINE BECAUSE OF THE RAIN. WING WALKER ADVISED ME THAT THE WING WAS GOING OVER THE LINE. SOPPED PUSH AND TO CORRECT THE PUSH MADE A SHARPER TURN.
