On this date while issuing a ferry permit for aircraft; we noticed a missing signature in the log page. I asked the mechanic to sign the block with the missing signature and in the meantime I was going to facsimile him the ferry permit. I trusted that the logbook review after the aircraft was returned back to service; maintenance discovered the missing signature in the logbook and they fixed the paperwork as per the gpm.
