Narrative:
We were practicing holding procedures over the FAF and were instructed to tell tower when we were to leave the hold and commence the approach. We called the tower and told the tower that we were on our outbound leg and they said to call 'balll inbound' FAF. Coming over the FAF we did not report balll inbound. Balll was not reported the tower did not know where we were. They cleared a single-cessna for departure on a crossing runway 2. At that time we were coming over the numbers on runway 32 and the tower called the other airplane to cancel their takeoff. Because they were instructed to stop the clearance because of a missed radio call and a near runway incident. We were instructed to call the tower. Supplemental information from acn 704284: after third holding pattern he said we're going to start descending on ILS runway 32 approach. Neither of us called the tower to inform that we're leaving balll inbound. I assumed he has the radio and trusted his experience not to miss something important.

Title: C310 HAS A RWY INCURSION AT MIE.
Narrative: WE WERE PRACTICING HOLDING PROCS OVER THE FAF AND WERE INSTRUCTED TO TELL TWR WHEN WE WERE TO LEAVE THE HOLD AND COMMENCE THE APCH. WE CALLED THE TWR AND TOLD THE TWR THAT WE WERE ON OUR OUTBOUND LEG AND THEY SAID TO CALL 'BALLL INBOUND' FAF. COMING OVER THE FAF WE DID NOT RPT BALLL INBOUND. BALLL WAS NOT REPORTED THE TWR DID NOT KNOW WHERE WE WERE. THEY CLRED A SINGLE-CESSNA FOR DEP ON A XING RWY 2. AT THAT TIME WE WERE COMING OVER THE NUMBERS ON RWY 32 AND THE TWR CALLED THE OTHER AIRPLANE TO CANCEL THEIR TKOF. BECAUSE THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO STOP THE CLRNC BECAUSE OF A MISSED RADIO CALL AND A NEAR RWY INCIDENT. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO CALL THE TWR. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 704284: AFTER THIRD HOLDING PATTERN HE SAID WE'RE GOING TO START DSNDING ON ILS RWY 32 APCH. NEITHER OF US CALLED THE TWR TO INFORM THAT WE'RE LEAVING BALLL INBOUND. I ASSUMED HE HAS THE RADIO AND TRUSTED HIS EXPERIENCE NOT TO MISS SOMETHING IMPORTANT.
