Narrative:
While taxiing for takeoff; 100 ft short of runway 17R; tower cleared xx into position and hold for runway 17R. We thought tower said yy and I acknowledged yy into position and hold for runway 17R. About 50 ft past hold line; captain and I noticed B737 to right moving across hold line. At that point; captain stopped moving the aircraft. I queried tower about yy into position and hold and tower replied; 'xx into position and hold.' we continued to hold about 50 ft over hold line and notified tower we were over the line. Tower again did not acknowledge and cleared xx for takeoff and then subsequently cleared zz flight into position and hold. After zz took off; captain then announced to tower that we were still over the hold line. Tower then cleared a flight to land on runway 17R and then captain took radio over and notified tower that yy was across the runway 17R hold line. Tower finally realized we were over the line and sent the flight around about 1 mi out. We were then cleared into position and hold for runway 17R after airplane went around. Takeoff was uneventful.

Title: MD80 FLT CREW HAS RWY INCURSION AT DFW.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING FOR TKOF; 100 FT SHORT OF RWY 17R; TWR CLRED XX INTO POS AND HOLD FOR RWY 17R. WE THOUGHT TWR SAID YY AND I ACKNOWLEDGED YY INTO POS AND HOLD FOR RWY 17R. ABOUT 50 FT PAST HOLD LINE; CAPT AND I NOTICED B737 TO R MOVING ACROSS HOLD LINE. AT THAT POINT; CAPT STOPPED MOVING THE ACFT. I QUERIED TWR ABOUT YY INTO POS AND HOLD AND TWR REPLIED; 'XX INTO POS AND HOLD.' WE CONTINUED TO HOLD ABOUT 50 FT OVER HOLD LINE AND NOTIFIED TWR WE WERE OVER THE LINE. TWR AGAIN DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE AND CLRED XX FOR TKOF AND THEN SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED ZZ FLT INTO POS AND HOLD. AFTER ZZ TOOK OFF; CAPT THEN ANNOUNCED TO TWR THAT WE WERE STILL OVER THE HOLD LINE. TWR THEN CLRED A FLT TO LAND ON RWY 17R AND THEN CAPT TOOK RADIO OVER AND NOTIFIED TWR THAT YY WAS ACROSS THE RWY 17R HOLD LINE. TWR FINALLY REALIZED WE WERE OVER THE LINE AND SENT THE FLT AROUND ABOUT 1 MI OUT. WE WERE THEN CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD FOR RWY 17R AFTER AIRPLANE WENT AROUND. TKOF WAS UNEVENTFUL.
