Narrative:
Gulfstream aircraft was sebound at FL270. Premier aircraft Y was nwbound climbing up to FL400. I observed that aircraft Y would not pass behind aircraft X; as I previously planned; so I issued aircraft Y a left turn. Aircraft Y did not respond. I issued aircraft X a left turn; which he complied with. Aircraft passed 4.78 mi apart. Our separation minima is 5 mi.
