Narrative:
Prior to the 80 KT callout on takeoff; an ECAM appeared; 'engine #1 compressor vane.' because we were still in the low speed regime; we aborted the takeoff; taxied clear; contacted maintenance and station operations; and taxied back to the gate. We also ran the checklist for hot brakes.
