Narrative:
Completed 6 stop-and-goes and on the 7TH; we forgot to put the gear down. The step had hit and we applied full power. Went back to orl (approximately 13 NM) to find out we had a propeller strike. I believe we were distraction by a lake amphibian that was in the pattern as well and was landing on the runway we were taking off from and vice versa. Verbally went through gumps watching the lake amphibian; trying to spot land on second centerline mark and forgot '3 in the green.' both did not hear gear warning nor can you see 'gear unsafe' light (under glare shield). Numerous contributing factors; but bottom line. We did not put the gear down.
