Narrative:
Everything was normal with the departure and climb out. While we were in cruise flight with center; they advised of a relay message; that there was a report from 2 aircraft on the ground at departure airport that we had a part of the aircraft fall off of our aircraft. We established a phone patch to our maintenance control/dispatch; advising of the message. Our dispatch telephoned airport operations to verify the report. Our dispatch was unable to verify that a part had fallen off of our aircraft. Since all system were normal; we continued. Once we arrived; we saw on our postflt inspection that we lost our #1 engine exhaust tail cone.
