Narrative:
Today ZAU implemented the omp; or O'hare modernization project. Upon opening sectors for the shift; it became apparent that one of the new eastbound departure sectors off ord; the sweet sector; was not displayed on the radar maps in the facility. The controllers were instructed to draw the sector boundaries on the map using the 'draw tool.' this tool allows you to place lines wherever you wish on the scope. None of these were as exact as a center-wide computer generator map would have been. The approximation of sector boundaries and differences that could occur between sectors was an unnecessary risk that occurred all day at ZAU. The O'hare modernization project should have been aborted until this problem was fixed. Also occurring at ZAU today -- there was a computer coordination problem between ZAU and ZOB with dtw arrs on the polar 2 arrival. Due to this; controllers were ordered to leave the aircraft on the STAR; but amend the routing in NAS to direct aammo..polar.POLAR2. This accomplished the passing of the flight plan to ZOB; but the aircraft was nowhere near the route shown in the NAS. This is in violation of the 7110.65 and once again; inherently dangerous.

Title: ZAU CTLR EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING NEW SECTORIZATION IMPLEMENTATION AND LACK OF TRAINING AND INFO ON THE SUBJECT CHANGE.
Narrative: TODAY ZAU IMPLEMENTED THE OMP; OR O'HARE MODERNIZATION PROJECT. UPON OPENING SECTORS FOR THE SHIFT; IT BECAME APPARENT THAT ONE OF THE NEW EBOUND DEP SECTORS OFF ORD; THE SWEET SECTOR; WAS NOT DISPLAYED ON THE RADAR MAPS IN THE FACILITY. THE CTLRS WERE INSTRUCTED TO DRAW THE SECTOR BOUNDARIES ON THE MAP USING THE 'DRAW TOOL.' THIS TOOL ALLOWS YOU TO PLACE LINES WHEREVER YOU WISH ON THE SCOPE. NONE OF THESE WERE AS EXACT AS A CTR-WIDE COMPUTER GENERATOR MAP WOULD HAVE BEEN. THE APPROXIMATION OF SECTOR BOUNDARIES AND DIFFERENCES THAT COULD OCCUR BTWN SECTORS WAS AN UNNECESSARY RISK THAT OCCURRED ALL DAY AT ZAU. THE O'HARE MODERNIZATION PROJECT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABORTED UNTIL THIS PROB WAS FIXED. ALSO OCCURRING AT ZAU TODAY -- THERE WAS A COMPUTER COORD PROB BTWN ZAU AND ZOB WITH DTW ARRS ON THE POLAR 2 ARR. DUE TO THIS; CTLRS WERE ORDERED TO LEAVE THE ACFT ON THE STAR; BUT AMEND THE ROUTING IN NAS TO DIRECT AAMMO..POLAR.POLAR2. THIS ACCOMPLISHED THE PASSING OF THE FLT PLAN TO ZOB; BUT THE ACFT WAS NOWHERE NEAR THE RTE SHOWN IN THE NAS. THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF THE 7110.65 AND ONCE AGAIN; INHERENTLY DANGEROUS.
