Narrative:
After takeoff on runway 24 at teb we climbed to 1500 ft and turned to the heading 280 degrees as per the teb 5 departure SID. While on the heading of 280 degrees the controller said to fly 290 degrees and made reference that 290 degrees was the heading on the SID. I did not question his instructions or comment due to being in the departure phase of flight. We flew the teb 5 departure as published. No infraction or conflict occurred.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he has been flying out of teb for 10 yrs and ATC's comment about the 290 degree heading required confused him. He decided not to say anything because it was not the time nor place to become argumentative. Instead given the controller's tone; he felt nothing would come of this event and decided to simply file a report and let the controller's comment pass.

NO INFRACTION OR CONFLICT OCCURRED.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE HAS BEEN FLYING OUT OF TEB FOR 10 YRS AND ATC'S COMMENT ABOUT THE 290 DEG HEADING REQUIRED CONFUSED HIM. HE DECIDED NOT TO SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THE TIME NOR PLACE TO BECOME ARGUMENTATIVE. INSTEAD GIVEN THE CTLR'S TONE; HE FELT NOTHING WOULD COME OF THIS EVENT AND DECIDED TO SIMPLY FILE A RPT AND LET THE CTLR'S COMMENT PASS.
