Narrative:
I had vectored air carrier X for traffic. I assigned present heading and forgot to forward the heading to the next sector. I was informed by my d-side that the receiving controller called and advised me that air carrier X was left on a heading.

Title: ZKC CTLR EXPERIENCED OPDEV WHEN FAILING TO ADVISE SUBSEQUENT CTLR THAT ACFT WAS ON VECTORS IN LIEU OF PUBLISHED ROUTING.
Narrative: I HAD VECTORED ACR X FOR TFC. I ASSIGNED PRESENT HDG AND FORGOT TO FORWARD THE HDG TO THE NEXT SECTOR. I WAS INFORMED BY MY D-SIDE THAT THE RECEIVING CTLR CALLED AND ADVISED ME THAT ACR X WAS LEFT ON A HDG.
