Climbing out of ZZZ1; prior to completing the after takeoff checklist; I informed the captain that we had a leading edge xsit light illuminated. Requested FL190 and informed departure control we had a flap issue. Performed the leading edge xsit light irregular checklist -- no change. First officer took the aircraft and radios; captain talked to maintenance; dispatch; flight attendants and passenger. Continued on to ZZZ1. Decided to request trucks and runway 34L. Dispatch declared emergency. Did a flaps 15 degree landing. The procedure was a non-event. No problems after landing; taxi to the gate.
