Narrative:
Center asked us to turn to a heading 030 degrees; we were heading north. I said no; because of a thunderstorm at that heading; I would remain on a heading of north. Center told me to squawk 7700. I did. At XA08Z on a different center frequency going to ZZZ I got a new code. Operations normal after that.

Narrative: CTR ASKED US TO TURN TO A HDG 030 DEGS; WE WERE HDG N. I SAID NO; BECAUSE OF A TSTM AT THAT HDG; I WOULD REMAIN ON A HDG OF N. CTR TOLD ME TO SQUAWK 7700. I DID. AT XA08Z ON A DIFFERENT CTR FREQ GOING TO ZZZ I GOT A NEW CODE. OPS NORMAL AFTER THAT.
