Narrative:
Immediately after takeoff; tower notified us of fluid leak from the left wing area. This aircraft had a history of 3 previous fuel leak write-ups. I declared an emergency; returned to ZZZ; landed overweight at 149000 pounds; normal sink rate and touchdown. We stopped on the runway for inspection by crash fire rescue equipment crew; noting nothing abnormal. Taxied to gate.
