Narrative:
CSD overheat caused right generator failure. QRH followed and CSD disconnected. We had no APU and therefore only 1 generator. After checking with maintenance and dispatch; they wanted us to return. We decided to stay VFR at 17000 ft and continue to ZZZ which at that point was closer. We were able to stay VFR all the way in and land at ZZZ. We had several other failures probably associated with the failed generator; autothrottles; autoplt; GPS; FMA all failed.
