Narrative:
In summary; incident was just landing at the wrong airport. I was flying the third leg of 3 and it was the end of a long day of flying. The third leg was flown on an IFR flight plan to hwv. The WX at destination was forecast to clear but was MVFR; occasional IFR at the time of my departure. I elected to fly this leg utilizing my IFR filed flight plan. The clearance I received was not even similar to the filed flight plan. Prior to departure; I was unable to raise center to obtain my clearance on either the frequency they gave me; or the telephone number they gave as an alternate method. Since departure was VFR conditions; I elected to pick up the clearance after takeoff. I had already entered the requested flight plan into my GPS in the hopes that it would be at least close to the clearance I would receive. It turned out that they were not even close. Further; the clearance was changed en route at least 6 times; plus vectored changes and altitude changes issued by ATC. The final segment of the flight was through the jfk class B airspace; into isp's class C. I was being given vectors rather than following a route. When close to destination I had the airport in sight and canceled my IFR clearance about 10 mi from destination. I made all the pattern calls for entry; turns and lndgs at hwv; but it turns out I landed at an airport 6 mi away with the same heading runway (runway 33). After touchdown the environment didn't look familiar and I noted a tower. I tried the usual ground frequencys in case the tower was open; with no luck. There were parked aircraft; but no aircraft in the pattern. Seems I landed at 3c8 instead of hwv. With a visual check for traffic; I departed and landed without incident at my intended destination.

Title: M20 PLT LANDS AT WRONG ARPT FOLLOWING A FRUSTRATING IFR FLIGHT.
Narrative: IN SUMMARY; INCIDENT WAS JUST LNDG AT THE WRONG ARPT. I WAS FLYING THE THIRD LEG OF 3 AND IT WAS THE END OF A LONG DAY OF FLYING. THE THIRD LEG WAS FLOWN ON AN IFR FLT PLAN TO HWV. THE WX AT DEST WAS FORECAST TO CLR BUT WAS MVFR; OCCASIONAL IFR AT THE TIME OF MY DEP. I ELECTED TO FLY THIS LEG UTILIZING MY IFR FILED FLT PLAN. THE CLRNC I RECEIVED WAS NOT EVEN SIMILAR TO THE FILED FLT PLAN. PRIOR TO DEP; I WAS UNABLE TO RAISE CTR TO OBTAIN MY CLRNC ON EITHER THE FREQ THEY GAVE ME; OR THE TELEPHONE NUMBER THEY GAVE AS AN ALTERNATE METHOD. SINCE DEP WAS VFR CONDITIONS; I ELECTED TO PICK UP THE CLRNC AFTER TKOF. I HAD ALREADY ENTERED THE REQUESTED FLT PLAN INTO MY GPS IN THE HOPES THAT IT WOULD BE AT LEAST CLOSE TO THE CLRNC I WOULD RECEIVE. IT TURNED OUT THAT THEY WERE NOT EVEN CLOSE. FURTHER; THE CLRNC WAS CHANGED ENRTE AT LEAST 6 TIMES; PLUS VECTORED CHANGES AND ALT CHANGES ISSUED BY ATC. THE FINAL SEGMENT OF THE FLT WAS THROUGH THE JFK CLASS B AIRSPACE; INTO ISP'S CLASS C. I WAS BEING GIVEN VECTORS RATHER THAN FOLLOWING A RTE. WHEN CLOSE TO DEST I HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT AND CANCELED MY IFR CLRNC ABOUT 10 MI FROM DEST. I MADE ALL THE PATTERN CALLS FOR ENTRY; TURNS AND LNDGS AT HWV; BUT IT TURNS OUT I LANDED AT AN ARPT 6 MI AWAY WITH THE SAME HDG RWY (RWY 33). AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE ENVIRONMENT DIDN'T LOOK FAMILIAR AND I NOTED A TWR. I TRIED THE USUAL GND FREQS IN CASE THE TWR WAS OPEN; WITH NO LUCK. THERE WERE PARKED ACFT; BUT NO ACFT IN THE PATTERN. SEEMS I LANDED AT 3C8 INSTEAD OF HWV. WITH A VISUAL CHK FOR TFC; I DEPARTED AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AT MY INTENDED DEST.
