Narrative:
Zan sector 16 called to activate 'northern edge airspace.' I did not know what small pieces of airspace this larger package defined. A fellow controller answered my call and explained what I needed to know as he had previously had to seek out the same answers. This occurred today and involved a military exercise that had begun three days ago. After being relieved from position; I sought out a supervisor for more information. The supervisor explained that no one had received a briefing because he had not yet received all the information himself. He said that he had just received a copy of the memorandum of understanding; and was waiting for a facsimile that would have the airspace details on it. The supervisor said that he hoped to get controllers briefed by the next day.
