Thunderstorm 12 NM west of mci visual approach to runway 19R; wind 140 degrees at 32 KTS gusting to 40 KTS; gear down; flaps 18 degrees; speed reference +8 KTS (141 KTS); inside camdo; 2500-2200 ft MSL. Executed windshear escape maneuver as trained in simulator. No windshear alert and guidance system warning 'tailwind shear; tailwind shear.' speed +/-30 KTS. Moderate turbulence 40 degree bank windshear induced roll emergency thrust applied; wings leveled; maintained confign 'headwind shear; headwind shear.' continued emergency thrust 10-12 seconds; executed go around; applied climb thrust. When safe; reported encounter. Vectored to runway 19L visual. Used QRH; reset fadec out of N1 mode. Made PA to passenger. Landed runway 19L. Winds 160 degrees at 30 KTS gusting to 43 KTS. Maintenance contacted. Entered required information in logbook. No engine limitations exceeded as recorded by FMS. No confign limitations exceeded by crew during encounter or escape maneuvers.
