Narrative:
This form is being filled out in interest of promoting safer setup for lndgs of complex high performance aircraft. Pilot made a gear up landing with minimal damage to aircraft because of pilot error. Contributing factors: distraction and failure to fully execute both landing checklists. The pilot had 2 checklists: the standard gump list and the mooney special landing procedures. During downwind; the pilot partially executed the standard gump list; was distraction; resumed the list without doing the undercarriage. The second somewhat vigorous list for landing the mooney (75 KTS; neutral pedals; speed brakes; 1300 RPM; nose high) engrossed the pilot and was executed effectively. Suggestions to prevent occurrence and improve safety: 1) combine the landing lists for better CRM into 1 written list. 2) doublechk the landing list -- especially the undercarriage item on short final. 3) post acronyms for the landing list on the panel such as gump.

Title: M20 PLT FORGETS TO EXTEND LNDG GEAR PRIOR TO LNDG.
Narrative: THIS FORM IS BEING FILLED OUT IN INTEREST OF PROMOTING SAFER SETUP FOR LNDGS OF COMPLEX HIGH PERFORMANCE ACFT. PLT MADE A GEAR UP LNDG WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO ACFT BECAUSE OF PLT ERROR. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: DISTR AND FAILURE TO FULLY EXECUTE BOTH LNDG CHKLISTS. THE PLT HAD 2 CHKLISTS: THE STANDARD GUMP LIST AND THE MOONEY SPECIAL LNDG PROCS. DURING DOWNWIND; THE PLT PARTIALLY EXECUTED THE STANDARD GUMP LIST; WAS DISTR; RESUMED THE LIST WITHOUT DOING THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE SECOND SOMEWHAT VIGOROUS LIST FOR LNDG THE MOONEY (75 KTS; NEUTRAL PEDALS; SPD BRAKES; 1300 RPM; NOSE HIGH) ENGROSSED THE PLT AND WAS EXECUTED EFFECTIVELY. SUGGESTIONS TO PREVENT OCCURRENCE AND IMPROVE SAFETY: 1) COMBINE THE LNDG LISTS FOR BETTER CRM INTO 1 WRITTEN LIST. 2) DOUBLECHK THE LNDG LIST -- ESPECIALLY THE UNDERCARRIAGE ITEM ON SHORT FINAL. 3) POST ACRONYMS FOR THE LNDG LIST ON THE PANEL SUCH AS GUMP.
