Narrative:
I just received my briefing and sat down when aircraft X called and declared an emergency. He said he had smoke in the cockpit and requested landing at ZZZ. I cleared him to ZZZ and gave him lower. I gave him position reports; WX; until about 2 mi from the airport. He said he had an engine failure and was going to land in a field. That was the final communication. Local rescue crews were called. He landed the aircraft in the field and all 3 persons on board walked away with some damage to the airplane.
