Narrative:

I was working departure coordinator when aircraft X departed runway 18R on runway heading. Simultaneously; aircraft Y departed runway 18L and; in accordance with assigned instructions from the tower; turned to a 160 degree heading 1 mi south of the mem VOR. The west departure controller turned aircraft X wbound; and the east departure controller turned aircraft Y eastbound. As the aircraft turned; the conflict alert went off; even though the aircraft were flying away from each other. I believe that our equipment at mem ATCT has a history of false or late conflict alerts; but I do not know if it has been documented.
