Narrative:
Aircraft #1 was descending into pit; leveled at FL270. Aircraft #2 was climbing off of cle; over ape VOR to FL280. Aircraft #2's altitude was amended to FL260 to stay beneath aircraft #1. I thought I got a readback and aircraft #2 was shipped to the next sector. When aircraft #2 was seen climbing through FL261; the next controller gave them an immediate descent to FL260. Reviewing the tapes showed that I had not gotten a readback on clearance of aircraft #2 to FL260.

Narrative: ACFT #1 WAS DSNDING INTO PIT; LEVELED AT FL270. ACFT #2 WAS CLBING OFF OF CLE; OVER APE VOR TO FL280. ACFT #2'S ALT WAS AMENDED TO FL260 TO STAY BENEATH ACFT #1. I THOUGHT I GOT A READBACK AND ACFT #2 WAS SHIPPED TO THE NEXT SECTOR. WHEN ACFT #2 WAS SEEN CLBING THROUGH FL261; THE NEXT CTLR GAVE THEM AN IMMEDIATE DSCNT TO FL260. REVIEWING THE TAPES SHOWED THAT I HAD NOT GOTTEN A READBACK ON CLRNC OF ACFT #2 TO FL260.
