Narrative:
Controller cleared aircraft for localizer back course runway 4 to txk; when ATIS had ILS runway 22. There had been several practice approachs done by a couple of aircraft in the last 15 mins; all for localizer back course runway 4; when runway 22 was the active. This was all coordinated with the tower controller. However; I forgot the active was runway 22 when tower called and requested release on the rj. I remembered just as the rj was rolling; and called tower to stop the rj at 2000 ft. Inbound was cleared only to 3000 ft. Though separated by the time radar identify was established; radar data indicated 4.8 mi and 6 ft closest proximity. An error report was filled out by our quality assurance department. The temperature in the bonham area of the control room was 66 degrees at console level; and 63 degrees exiting the floor register. My hands and fingers were continuously getting numb and stiff; and keyboard data entry was difficult toward the end of each shift; and was a definite distraction.

Title: ZFW CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT 3000 FT BETWEEN LOC APCH AND DEP ACFT FROM OPPOSITE RWY DIRECTIONS; ATTEMPT AT ALT SEPARATION FAILED.
Narrative: CTLR CLRED ACFT FOR LOC BACK COURSE RWY 4 TO TXK; WHEN ATIS HAD ILS RWY 22. THERE HAD BEEN SEVERAL PRACTICE APCHS DONE BY A COUPLE OF ACFT IN THE LAST 15 MINS; ALL FOR LOC BACK COURSE RWY 4; WHEN RWY 22 WAS THE ACTIVE. THIS WAS ALL COORDINATED WITH THE TWR CTLR. HOWEVER; I FORGOT THE ACTIVE WAS RWY 22 WHEN TWR CALLED AND REQUESTED RELEASE ON THE RJ. I REMEMBERED JUST AS THE RJ WAS ROLLING; AND CALLED TWR TO STOP THE RJ AT 2000 FT. INBOUND WAS CLRED ONLY TO 3000 FT. THOUGH SEPARATED BY THE TIME RADAR IDENT WAS ESTABLISHED; RADAR DATA INDICATED 4.8 MI AND 6 FT CLOSEST PROX. AN ERROR RPT WAS FILLED OUT BY OUR QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPT. THE TEMP IN THE BONHAM AREA OF THE CTL ROOM WAS 66 DEGS AT CONSOLE LEVEL; AND 63 DEGS EXITING THE FLOOR REGISTER. MY HANDS AND FINGERS WERE CONTINUOUSLY GETTING NUMB AND STIFF; AND KEYBOARD DATA ENTRY WAS DIFFICULT TOWARD THE END OF EACH SHIFT; AND WAS A DEFINITE DISTR.
