Narrative:
While climbing out of ZZZ we noticed the 'flight idle stop open' light was illuminated. We then finished the after takeoff checklist. The QRH -- was then consulted and we found no procedures to follow. My duties were then to fly the aircraft and monitor ATC while the captain called dispatch. After repeated attempts of contacting dispatch we were able to contact dispatch. We also referenced the pilot handbook to find some guidance. Dispatch had us contact maintenance who told us to use caution on landing and be prepared to use the flight idle stop override if the power levers couldn't be retarded. At this time we decided to continue to the nearest airport which was ZZZ. While we briefed the approach we discussed the position of the power levers to avoid inadvertently placing them in ground idle. We landed on runway 12L and taxied to the gate with no incident.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A SF340'S FLIGHT IDLE STOP OPEN LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER TAKEOFF. THE CREW DIVERTED TO THE NEAREST SUITABLE AIRPORT AFTER TALKING WITH MAINTENANCE BECAUSE NO PROCEDURES WERE FOUND IN THE PILOT HANDBOOK.
Narrative: WHILE CLBING OUT OF ZZZ WE NOTICED THE 'FLT IDLE STOP OPEN' LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. WE THEN FINISHED THE AFTER TKOF CHKLIST. THE QRH -- WAS THEN CONSULTED AND WE FOUND NO PROCS TO FOLLOW. MY DUTIES WERE THEN TO FLY THE ACFT AND MONITOR ATC WHILE THE CAPT CALLED DISPATCH. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS OF CONTACTING DISPATCH WE WERE ABLE TO CONTACT DISPATCH. WE ALSO REFED THE PLT HANDBOOK TO FIND SOME GUIDANCE. DISPATCH HAD US CONTACT MAINT WHO TOLD US TO USE CAUTION ON LNDG AND BE PREPARED TO USE THE FLT IDLE STOP OVERRIDE IF THE PWR LEVERS COULDN'T BE RETARDED. AT THIS TIME WE DECIDED TO CONTINUE TO THE NEAREST ARPT WHICH WAS ZZZ. WHILE WE BRIEFED THE APCH WE DISCUSSED THE POS OF THE PWR LEVERS TO AVOID INADVERTENTLY PLACING THEM IN GND IDLE. WE LANDED ON RWY 12L AND TAXIED TO THE GATE WITH NO INCIDENT.
