Narrative:

Turning base to final -- high and poorly positioned due to ATC holding us up but still vectoring us to the final. Eventually got lower and extended gear & flaps to 20 while being turned to final and cleared for the approach --way too high so extended the speedbrake to get on profile the stick shaker activated briefly (not for even a second); I stowed the speed brake; finished configuring; got on profile; made stabilized requirement and landed.

Title: Poor handling by ATC at a foreign destination required the speed brakes on the B767-300 to be extended on the turn to final. Delayed retraction resulted in a brief duration stick shaker.
